Salvation Army Summer Program
Youth in grades K - 6 and invited to attend the Salvation Army free summer program, " Thailand Trek", every Thursday, July 7 to August 20, 10am to 2pm. Morning snack and lunch offered each day. Chamber Information Volunteers Needed
If you are interested in volunteering your time on weekends this summer to help greet visitors and give directions and area information in the Genesee County Visitor Information booth, Main Street, Batavia, call Kelly Rapone at 343-7440 ext. 23.
Medical Transportation Program

The Genesee County Office for the Aging is in critial need of volunteers to take individuals to medical appointments outside of Genesee County. Supplemental liability insurance is provided to all volunteers and mileage reimbursement may be available. Contact Dorian Ely, at the Office for the Aging if you are interested in volunteering. 585-343-1611.


United Memorial Hospital will offer, "Ask a Nurse" community outreach program the First Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11am, in the Jerome Center Lobby, 16 Bank Street, Batavia; and on the Third Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11am, in the main lobby of the hospital at 127 North Street, Batavia. A registered nurse will be present to answer questions, check blood pressure, review medications, and provide diabetes risk assessments. The program is free and open to the public on a walk in basis.

Volunteer to Deliver Home Meals

The Office for the Aging is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver Home delivered meals in Batavia. You can volunteer daily or as little as once a month. Each delivery takes approximately one to one and half hours. Easy pick up accessibility and assistance with loading at the Genesee ARC Community Center, Woodrow Road, Batavia. United Memorial Medical Center Healthy Living, offers classes on Childbirth, MOMS program, Breast Feeding,  Nutrition counceling, Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support, Diabetes Education Classes, and Advanced Cardiac Life Support .
