Chamber of Commerce Awards Nominations
Nominations are now being accepted for Genesee County Chamber of Commerce Awards for business of the year; entrepreneurial business of the year, agricultural business of the year; Innovative enterprise of the year; Special service recognition; and Geneseean of the Year. Free Annual Women's and Men's Health Screenings
United Memorial Medical Center and the Cancer Services Partnership will provide free health screenings to Genesee County residents who meet specific age criteria; women between the ages of 40 - 64 and men aged 50-64 with no insurance or high deductibles, on Wednesday, October 29th, from 4pm to 8pm at the Jerome Center, 16 Bank Street, Batavia. Appointments are necessary for some of the screenings. All screenings will be provided at no charge. Funds are available for follow up care if necessary. The Richmond Memorial Library , 19 Ross Street, Batavia, will offer free computer classes in November and December. Topics covered will be basics, email, internet, google, internet safety, facebook, file management, e-readers, phones, laptops. Medical Transportation Program
The Genesee County Office for the Aging is in critial need of volunteers to take individuals to medical appointments outside of Genesee County. Supplemental liability insurance is provided to all volunteers and mileage reimbursement may be available. UMMC ASK A Nurse
United Memorial Hospital will offer, "Ask a Nurse" community outreach program the First Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11am, in the Jerome Center Lobby, 16 Bank Street, Batavia; and on the Third Tuesday of each month from 9am to 11am, in the main lobby of the hospital at 127 North Street, Batavia. A registered nurse will be present to answer questions, check blood pressure, review medications, and provide diabetes risk assessments. The program is free and open to the public on a walk in basis.

Volunteer to Deliver Home Meals
The Office for the Aging is in need of volunteer drivers to deliver Home delivered meals in Batavia. You can volunteer daily or as little as once a month. Each delivery takes approximately one to one and half hours. Easy pick up accessibility and assistance with loading at the Genesee ARC Community Center, Woodrow Road, Batavia.
