A Wind Advisory has been posted for most of Western New York, including Genesee County, until 5 this afternoon.
Winds are forecast out of the southwest at 25 to 35 miles per hour with gusts to 55.
A peak gust was recorded in Batavia earlier this morning at 53 miles an hour.
A public sound off is scheduled for tonight into proposed increases in city property taxes and water rates.
The city council is holding a pair of hearings tonight into a 1.4 percent property tax increase…that’s expected to cost the average Batavia homeowner just under $12 more per year.
The water rate and fee increases will add about $13 a year to the water bill of the average customer.
Tonight’s hearings begin at 7 o’clock at city hall.

A snowmobile accident in Pavilion leaves one man hospitalized.
The misshap occurred on a marked trail near Transit and Dublin Roads.
41-year-old Steven Klien was tossed from his machine and then struck by another snowmobile. He was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. The accident remains under investigation but police say alcohol was not a factor.
U.S. Senator Charles Schumer is calling on the Federal Aviation Administration to make sure that air safety regulations are not watered down in Washington. Schumer warns that weakening the measures passed in response to a 2009 fatal plane crash over Buffalo could jeopardize passenger safety and passengers are more likely to fly if they feel safe. The investigation into the Buffalo crash found that pilot fatigue may have played a role.
