Unseasonable temperatures soaring into the lower 50’s in Genesee County today. Most of the snow is melting off and the grass poking through more and more.
With warm air coming in out of the south, it may feel like spring is right around the corner. But meteorologist Dave Thomas with the National Weather Service says: not so fast, Western New York.
"Late Friday, we're going to have a cold front come across the area," says Thomas, "driving some colder air into our region - as well as some gusty winds.
"We could see some spotty snow. But nothing significant."
Thomas says the two-day respite from winter will not warm Lake Erie or Lake Ontario enough to significantly increase lake effect snow.
