Democrats in the 26th Congressional District today have released a statement about their own process to choose a candidate for Congress.
The Democratic chairs for each of the seven counties chastised the Republicans for what they call “rushing to judgment” in picking a candidate so quickly.
Democrats emphasized that they will take their time to find an outstanding candidate. In the meantime, they welcome applications from all for the position.

It is expected that once the Democrats have their candidate, Governor Andrew Cuomo will announce the date for the special election.
