Genesee Community College has selected its new president.
He is Dr. James Sunser, an administrator with Onondaga Community College in Syracuse.
Dr. Sunser will take the helm at GCC on August 1st, replacing the retiring Dr. Stuart Steiner.
Sunser will earn a salary of $177,832 with standard college fringe benefits.

Legal proceedings against Carlos Cardenas have come to an abrupt halt, but only temporarily.
Cardenas appeared briefly in Orleans County Court yesterday but the case was quickly adjourned when he claimed he didn’t completely understand English. Cardenas is accused of raping and killing his wife’s sister. He claims is was an accident.
An inmate at the Collins Correctional Facility in Gowanda has been arrested for a pair of break-ins last summer at the Oakfield home of his estranged wife.
25-year-old Christopher Feidner is already serving state time for an unrelated felony.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies say Feidner broke into his wife’s North Main Street home in Oakfield and allegedly took video game systems and a pair of laptop computers.
The Genesee County Local Drug Task Force has harvested some potted plants in the Village of LeRoy.
40-year-old Jose Martinez of LeRoy is facing misdemeanor drug charges.
Police say they searched Martinez home last month and seized a quantity of pot, pills and a half-dozen marihuana plants.
Sentencing for former State Comptroller Alan Hevesi on corruption charges has been postponed, again. Hevesi faces up to four years in prison for his role in a massive state pension fund scandal. He was originally scheduled to be sentenced last week, but ended up in the hospital. In court yesterday, Hevesi's attorneys attempted to portray their client in deteriorating health in an effort to gain leniency.
