A 16-year-old Batavia High School student has been slapped with seven counts of Aggravated Harassment.
The student is accused of making dozens of X-rated telephone calls to local women, many of them employees of the Batavia City School District.
The unidentified student was arraigned on the charges in Town of Batavia court. Batavia Police say the case against the student will be handled in criminal court and he will be treated as an adult.
Police said the name of the student was not made public, because he is eligible for youthful offender status. Such a designation would seal the record from the public.
Batavia Police Detective Todd Crossett said that seven women came forward to press charges.
As many as 36 women may have received calls.
