A power outage has closed the Genesee Community College Batavia Campus.
A spokesperson for the college reports that GCC’s Batavia campus has been without power for several hours. The power went out around 3 o'clock this morning. Some surrounding areas in the Towns of Batavia and Stafford are also affected.
National Grid is reporting about 470 customers without power.
The Batavia campus of GCC is officially closed until 11:00a.m.
The New York State Health Department reports that Batavia’s United Memorial Medical Center has been properly reporting its cases of C. diff bacteria.
The Health Department terms the recent number of cases of the potentially deadly bacteria at UMMC an "outbreak."
The state also reports that over the past two years, the infection rates at UMMC are within state averages and are consistent with infection rates at Strong Memorial in Rochester and ECMC in Buffalo.
It could be the last lap for the LeRoy Village Swimming Pool.
Village Mayor Ged Brady is prepared to close the pool for good unless someone comes along at the 11th hour to privatize it.
Brady is encouraging anyone to step forward before June 8th with a viable plan to privatize the pool. Otherwise, Brady says, he’s prepared to go to the Village Board's June 8th meeting and make a resolution to close the pool for good.

A Stafford man has been arrested on charges that date back to last November.
An open arrest warrant had been out for 53-year-old Dennis Walter of Clipnock Road, Stafford.
He was taken into custody yesterday.
Walter is facing three counts of Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
He is jailed in lieu of $20,000 bail.
The governor and the lieutenant governor's tax returns show considerable income from 2010. Governor Cuomo reported more than $200,000 of income for 2010 with a majority of his salary coming from his time as attorney general.
Lieutenant Governor Duffy filed jointly with his wife for a total of more than $240,000.
