An Oakfield man is facing numerous charges following a motorcycle chase with police this morning that reached speeds over 130 miles an hour .
20-year-old Gregory Smith of Judge Road is charged with speeding, drunk driving, reckless driving and fleeing from a police officer among other charges.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies and State Police were involved in the chase which began around 6:20a.m.
A citizen complaint alerted police to a possible intoxicated driver near the Wilson Farms Store in the Village of Oakfield.
Deputies located the motorcycle on Galloway Road and attempted to stop it.
That’s when the chase began in the Town of Batavia, back through the Village of Oakfield and into the Town of Oakfield. At the corner of Hutton and Route 63, the cycle crashed. Deputies said Smith was thrown from his cycle and fled the scene on foot.
Following a pursuit, Smith was tasered and taken into custody in a corn field.
Deputies said Smith did not have a motorcycle license.
