City Firefighters returned to the streets of Batavia with their boots in hand, not on their feet. They participated in the annual "Fill the Boot" fundraiser for Muscular Dystrophy.
Firefighters were enthusiastic about the fundraiser and brought their boots to the corners of Court, Main and Ellicot streets at 9:00am Friday morning.
Firefighters have participated in the fundraiser for the past 17 years. The goal for this year is to raise $6,000, a $400 jump from last year's total.
All boot-fulls go to the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is working towards curing Mucular Dystrophy and other muscle-related diseases. The MDA was established in 1950 and operates out of 200 plus offices in the country.
