A fire inside a vacant Bergen home was successfully knocked down this morning.
Volunteer crews responded to the call on Townline Road, between Pocock and Jerico Roads, at about 6:20am this morning.
A "may-day" call was issued at one point during the fight, after a volunteer fireman fell from a rickety flight of stairs into the basement. He was rescued with a ladder and was not injured.
The investigation into the fire continues. There was no electric or gas service at the house.

Saying it's frustrating enough paying those airline baggage fees, Senator Chuck Schumer wants to make sure airlines give that money back to passengers when luggage is hours or days late.
Schumer has written a letter to major airlines warning them if they do not reimburse for late luggage, he will introduce a law forcing them to do it.
New regulations set to take effect in August require airlines to reimburse passengers for baggage fees only if they are never returned, but the new rules don't cover bags that arrive late.

What is up with 18 year old Matthew Hernandez? Threatening a young child with a knife. Where were the parents of the child and why weren't there any adults around?

Glad to hear that the missing Pavilion teenager, Brittany, was found safe and sound. But how did her family not know that she was in Arizona with other family members?
