Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies yesterday arrested an Oakfield man in connection with an investigation that dates back to June. 54 year old Anthony Nicosia of Albion Road in Oakfield has been charged with felony Criminal Sex Act, Forcible Touching, and Endangering the Welfare of a Child. Nicosia allegedly abused a child at his residence back in June. He’s in jail with bail set at 15 thousand dollars.
Three Western New York Representatives including Kathy Hochul have sent a letter to the Office of Management and Budget asking that agency to expedite their timeline for rulemaking associated with pilot fatigue. The Department of Transportation is projecting new flight time and duty time rules to be published November 22nd of this year and that three months later than the originally scheduled date of August 1st. The later states that the families of the victims of Continental Flight 34-07 have already waited over two and a half years to see their hard work passed into law and every day more that they are made to wait is not only an insult to those, but also to every passenger who steps on a plane each and every day.
Local business owners vendors are all hoping for big turnout at Summer in the City.
The annual celebration of summer kicks off at noon today in Downtown. The bash is again featuring all things local, from local food and crafters to classic cars and non-profits.
It’s all put together by Business Improvement District head Don Burkel and Public Rep Director Jeff Gillard.
Downtown streets will close beginning at 8:00am this morning. They include: Bank Street, Jackson Street, School Street, Court Street, Jefferson Avenue, and the portion of East Main from Liberty Street to the Upton Monument.
