Genesee County and all of Western New York is under a Winter Storm Warning until 1pm tomorrow afternoon.
Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches, possibily more, are likely by tomorrow afternoon. The greatest amounts are expected across the Finger
Lakes and Genesee Valley.
Temperatures will be within a few degrees of freezing producing very wet water laden snow. The snow will stick to trees and power lines...possibly resulting in scattered power outages and minor tree damage.
Another methamphetamine Lab has been busted in Batavia.
Lawmen moved in last night on what they describe as a "dismantled" meth lab in a first floor rear apartment at 13 Ross Street.
Police say they found a quantity of meth in various stages of production along with chemicals and equipment.
Two arrests were made in connection with the suspected lab: 33-year-old Warren Cotton and 31-year-old Eric Johnston.
Cotton was locked up without bail on a felony drug charge.
Johnston was given ticket for pot possession.
The investigation was carried out by the Genesee County Local Drug Enforcement Task Force and is continuing.
A 28-year-old Batavia man, who admitted to selling drugs last fall, is going to prison.
Timothy Lee, who also goes by the name “Cricket,” was sentenced in Genesee County Court yesterday to 4 and half years behind bars.
Lee had pled guilty to selling crack cocaine to a member of the Genesee County Local Drug Task force.
Governor David Paterson wants to make texting while driving a primary offense. Currently, police can only issue a ticket to texters if they first observe another violation such as speeding. Paterson says his bill would "take the handcuffs off of law enforcement" and make the highways safer. The Governor says any kind of distraction while driving is dangerous and texting while driving is one of the most dangerous distractions possible.
