A word of warning is coming today from Leroy Police. They want residents to be aware of a recent increase in thefts from unlocked vehicles in the village of Leroy. Police recently have received 6 complaints from residents who say items have been stolen from their unlocked cars mostly in the areas of West Main Street, Myrtle Street, and Church Streets. Police say most of the thefts occurred during the nighttime on Sunday, but the latest occurred on Myrtle Street overnight on Tuesday into Wednesday. Police are asking anyone having information about these thefts to contact the Leroy Police. (768-2527)
Delays are slowly winding down at New York's three major airports. A third of all flights out of Kennedy, LaGuardia, and Newark Liberty airports were cancelled on Friday. The Port Authority reports over one-thousand flights were grounded due to the winter storm. Continental, US Airways, and United are among some of the airlines waving rescheduling fees for impacted passengers.
The Rochester Airport recorded 11.8 inches on Friday, while snow at the Buffalo Airport totaled only 1.5 inches, a difference of 10.3 inches.
