A bail figure has been set for the Batavia man accused of stabbing a victim in the eye. Batavia Police now say the brutal attack was an act of revenge.
18-year-old Christopher Preedom is charged with Felony Assault and Burglary, after police say he broke into an apartment with accomplices, and stabbed a man in the eye with scissors. Genesee County Jail staff confirmed Monday afternoon that Preedom was still behind bars, now on $40,000 cash bail or $80,000 bond.
Preedom, 19-year-old Kevin Andrews and 21-year-old Timothy Andrews, are all accused of breaking into a Woodstock Gardens apartment in Batavia Saturday.
"It appears there was a dispute earlier in the evening, between the victim and one – or all three – of the individuals that came to his house later," says police Chief Randy Baker. "That led to a fight at the apartment, which ended up leading to the stabbing."
The victim is recovering from serious injuries at Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester. Chief Baker says he may lose sight in the injured eye.
Again, Preedom remains jailed with bail. Kevin and Timothy Andrews are also in jail today, Kevin on $40,00 cash or $80,000 bond; Timothy is jailed in lieu of $50,000 cash or $100,000 bond.
