A Batavia man, currently jailed in Livingston County, is now charged with second-degree Assault for a Christmas Eve fight over a football game.
Livingston County Sheriff's Deputies say 20-year-old Nathan Royce of Wood Street has been locked up in Livingston County for some time on a probation violation. On Christmas Eve, jail guards say Royce got into a heated argument with another inmate about which team would make the NFL playoffs – the Dallas Cowboys or the New York Giants.
It got so heated, Royce allegedly punched the other inmate, injuring him.
Royce is now facing a court date.
By the way, the Giants made the playoffs, beating the Cowboys on the final day of the season. But no word from deputies on which inmate got the last laugh.
