A little miracle from Batavia, a one-year-old baby girl, has survived a potentially deadly condition – and is now expected to live a healthy, normal life.
Little Brooklyn Sputore of Batavia was born 13 months ago with a “Vein of Galen” brain aneurysm, meaning blood and fluid in her brain was not circulating or draining correctly.
It could have easily been fatal.
But on Monday, a miracle. Brooklyn’s father Mike Sputore tells us by phone from New Jersey – with the help of surgeons, the aneurysm healed itself.
"She had two procedures. One last February and another last July. We came here for her third procedure and the MRI showed the aneurysm healed up and she is cured."
Brooklyn will have some annual check-ups to be sure everything develops fine. But she should lead a completely normal life.
Mike and Julie Sputore say they can’t express enough thanks to their employers, and their community, for the endless support.
