A 23-year-old woman died when her vehicle apparently flipped into a pond near Java Lake in Wyoming County.
Wyoming County Sheriff's Deputies say 23-year-old Erin Pinter was pronounced dead at the scene yesterday afternoon. Pinter's car was first reported off the road, upside-down in the pond at 1:30pm Monday. The North Java Fire Department responded and found the car partly submerged with wheels sticking out of the water.
Firefighters were able to pull the car from the water, but Pinter was discovered dead inside. The county coroner is still working to confirm the cause of death.
Deputies say the accident appeared to be a result of excessive speed in wet, possibly frozen road conditions.
