A swift moving line of thunderstorms accompanied by wind gusts up to 50 miles an hour pounded Western New York overnight.
The storm started to be felt in Genesee County just after 6:30pm Tuesday. The winds brought down tree limbs…some large enough to close roads.
Power was also affected. At the height of the storm, 2,800 National Grid customers were without power in Batavia.
One school-related announcement:there is a problem with the heating system at Batavia’s Notre Dame High School and officials have decided to cancel classes today.
