A new superintendent of schools has been named for the Elba Central School District.
The Elba School Board has named Secondary Principal Jerome Piwko to succeed Joan Cole who is retiring at the end of the summer.
Piwko will become the sixth superintendent since centralization of the District in 1937 and will succeed Joan Cole, who retires October 13, 2010, after serving the children and community of the Elba Central School District for the past 29 years. "Jerry” Piwko has served as the secondary principal of the Elba Central School District for the past two years and previously was employed as the assistant principal of the Albion Central School District.
