The annual increase in pump prices is beginning early this year and experts say that could cause record setting prices by the time summer driving season arrives. Experts say prices locally could go as high as $4.50 per gallon.

New York's senior senator, Charles Schumer, is calling on the U.S. State Department to put pressure on Saudi Arabia to increase oil production. Schumer hopes that will make up for any further Iranian oil embargoes and in turn will bring down the surging gas prices.
Iran has already cut oil shipments to the United Kingdom and France. Gasoline prices are hovering around $4.00 per gallon for regular in the New York City area. The average in Western New York is closer to $3.85.
