A motorcycle accident in Bergen causes the death of a Monroe County man around 12p.m. Monday.
26-year-old Gregory Healy of Chili was driving his 2006 Honda motorcycle North on Route 19 when he collided with an SUV causing the bike to slide into a guardrail.
Genesee County Sheriff's Chief Deputy Jerome Brewster said Healy was dead before responders arrived.
“Reports from other witnesses said that the motorcycle had been speeding. After impacting the car ahead of it the motorcycle dropped to it’s side and skidded for quite a distance down the road before hitting a guardrail and the operator subsequently died,” said Brewster.
Officers said Healy was driving on a motorcycle learner’s permit.
Fire crews also responded to the scene, because the bike was on fire.
There’s no word on what caused the fatal accident.
