New York State Park Police confirm human remains were in fact found in Allegany state park Tuesday.
A hiker reported to police that he found the remains near the Art Roscoe ski trails in the red house area of the park.
Police said a skeleton and bones were found in the same general area where 92-year old Thomas Hamilton of Great Valley went missing a year and a half ago.
A watch and pieces of clothing were also found. Police said those items don’t help identify whether it’s Hamilton or not, they are still waiting on autopsy results.
