The Monroe County Medical Examiner’s office believes that a Bergen man who passed away in police custody, died of natural causes.
The preliminary findings of an autopsy performed on Richard Fox showed that the 46-year-old Swamp Road man suffered a heart attack or some coronary event.
Genesee County Sheriff’s deputies took Fox into custody last night at his home. It was reported that Fox was intoxicated and had been driving.
Once handcuffed and placed in the back of a patrol car, Fox became unresponsive and despite efforts by deputies and paramedics to revive him, Fox was pronounced dead at UMMC.
