It’s a project that helps people get odd jobs done around the house while raising money for a well known service club.
The LeRoy Rotary club has been running the rent a Rotarian project for the past six years.
Past President and current Assistant Governor of area 14 Martha Bailey said Rotarians will be out this Saturday, April 28th working hard. She talked about the concept of the rental project.
"Rotarians go to your home and do little jobs for you, wash windows, rake the yard and clean your garage and in turn you give us a donation," said Bailey
The money LeRoy Rotary raises will fund the many project they're involved in. Some of their local community projects include cleaning up the LeRoy rail road tresstles, and their international projects include eradicating polio and getting water filtration systems to Guatemalans.
Bailey said the rental project has been very successful in the past.
"We actually have some repeat business each year especially some of our senior citizens. I get phone calls and they are so excited and say "oh thanks for calling me or thanks for sending me a note." So they get to learn about Rotary, we get to learn about them, we have a presence in the community so it's all so good," said Bailey.
