The defense that got Batavia to the New York State Class B Boys Basketball Championship just wasn’t there in Glens Falls.
The Blue Devils season ended last night in a 69 – 53 loss to the Westhill Warriors.

The Batavia City Council meets in Conference Session this Monday night.
The Conference meeting allows city lawmakers to discuss proposed legislation. No formal votes are taken.
For this Monday night, Ward Six Councilwoman Rose Mary Christian has asked for a discussion on possible local restrictions on registered sex offenders. Over 50 people attended a meeting this week at the police department where law enforcement explained local procedures for managing sex offenders.
Monday night’s meeting begins at 7 in the Council Board Room on the second floor of City Hall. The public is welcome to speak but first must sign in with the city clerk.
Suffolk County Executive Steve Levy is now joining former Long Island Congressman Rick Lazio on the campaign trial for the Republican nomination for governor. Levy received an embrace from Republicans as state party boss Ed Cox showed up for Levy’s announcement. Levy recently defected from the Democratic Party.
Levy touts his record as a fiscal conservative and budget hawk. Many former backers of Lazio are withdrawing their support due to poor fundraising and a lackluster campaign.
LeRoy High School was evacuated as a precaution yesterday afternoon.
School officials received a bomb threat.
The state police bomb sniffing dog was called in…no explosives were found.
Students were outside the building for almost two hours.
