A Batavia man accused of welfare fraud has been located. 36-year-old Michael Schramm was found in Ohio after a warrant was issued for his arrest here in Genesee County.
Schramm allegedly failed to disclose that he was employed full time on a farm in Niagara County while receiving assistance. He received a total of $17,026.39 in medical assistance and food stamps.
His wife, Deborah Schramm had previously been charged in the same case.
After an investigation by the County’s Department of Social Services Schramm has been charged with one count of grand larceny and two counts of offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree.
Schramm is in jail without bail, he will appear in Batavia town court on May 21st.
