A man is alive after plunging into Niagara Falls Monday morning.

Niagara Falls Parks Police said a witness saw the man climb over the retaining wall above the Horseshoe Falls and enter the water without wearing any protective gear.

He was located near the shore line by fire officials and then taken to an area hospital via air ambulance.

According to a police statement, the man sustained life-threatening injuries. 

Police are still investigating the incident.
