Governor Andrew Cuomo has passed a bill that will protect people with special needs and disabilities.

The legislation will change how the state protects over one million disabled New Yorkers in state facilities and programs with the creation of the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs; they will be the voice for those who cannot stand up for themselves.

Cuomo said the new law is a way for the state to say enough is enough and for those with disabilities to receive the proper treatment that they deserve.
