An official heat advisory is in effect for Niagara, Orleans, and MonroeCounties, but the rest of Western New York will still feel hot and humid Friday.

Meteorologist with Weather Service in Buffalo Dan Kelly said Genesee County will be in the mid 90’s, but it might feel hotter than that outside because of the heat index levels.

“That’s issued when we expect the heat index, that’s what the temperature feels like, taking into account the temperature and the humidity and even any wind so we determine the heat index, when that gets up around 100 then we will issue a heat advisory,” said Kelly

Kelly said temperatures are expected to cool down this weekend with a high of 88 degrees Saturday along with a couple of thunderstorms throughout the day.
