Fire crews responded to a large grass fire in Elba Thursday afternoon.
Fire Rescuers from Elba, Oakfield, Byron and the town of Batavia responded to the fire off Drake Street Road in the Town.
A portion of Route 262 was shut down for firefighters to control the blaze. It has now re-opened.
The recent pattern of hot and dry weather have been responsible for similar fires that have happened in the area this summer.
