Batavia Downs Raceway will kick off their 66th season this Monday.
Horse racing riders from around the world will be in the area to race on one of America’s oldest lighted harness tracks.
The event is the first of 72 races set to happen this season.
General Manager at Batavia Downs Todd Haight talks about what horse racing fans can expect on opening night.
“We have three of the top drivers in the sport of harness racing here Monday night Dan Noble was the leading driver in North America last year, Shawn Grey was one of the top percentage drivers in the sport, and of course Jim Morrow Jr. who shattered four record here at Batavia Downs back in 2006 so we have some of the top drivers here on Monday night.”
The horse racing event begins at a new time this year; riders will take off at 6:25p.m.
