The 420 Emporium in Batavia was raided Wednesday. The head-shop located on Ellicott Street was raided by federal law enforcement agents around 11:30 a.m.
Four boxes of suspected “bath salt” product were removed from the shop and two alleged employees were arrested.
Batavia Police Chief Shawn Huebusch said Batavia police and the local Drug Task Force assisted State Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration in the effort.
“This is a big relief for the City of Batavia as a whole; the residents in this community have been plagued by a problem with bath salts and to see that the federal government has noticed this is a very big relief to the resident of the community and the police department,” said Huebusch.
Many people were driving by the shop honking their horns in support of the effort. This was one of many raids being done at head-shops across Western New York Wednesday.
