An air quality alert is in effect for all of Western New York until 11p.m. Friday.

The State Department of Environmental Conservation has issued the warning, as the high is expected to hit 90 degrees on Friday.

The alerts are issued when extreme heat causes pollution levels rise, and it could cause hazardous breathing conditions for those with reparatory problems.

The DEC however, is recommending that everyone reduce their physical activity outdoors Friday.
