Western New York Round-up Rally
Batavia welcomes batch of bikers this weekend.
It is the second annual Western New York Round-up Rally.
Motorcycle riders and enthusiasts are gathering this afternoon for the three day event.
The rally has closed Jackson and school streets for vendors as organizers of the event predict more than 25-hundred bikes will attend the rally that wraps up Sunday evening.
Richard Malone becomes Bishop of Buffalo
After eight years as the leader of the Roman Catholic Church in Portland, Maine, Bishop Richard Malone has been installed as the 14th Bishop of Buffalo.
Pope Benedict the 16th appointed Malone to the Diocese of Buffalo in May.
Genesee County is included in the Buffalo Diocese.
Oakfield Man is Arrested for Assault
An Oakfield man is behind bars for allegedly beating a woman over the head with a flash light.
44-year-old Robert Leiser of Lockport Road has been charged with Assault in the second degree.
Genesee County Sheriff’s Deputies say the assault happened last month, but the arrest was made this week.
The woman had an order of protection at the time.
WBTA’s Eye on Government
The Batavia City Council is holding both a Business meeting and a Conference meeting on Monday night.
The public is welcome to attend both sessions.
If you wish to address the council, you must first sign in with the city clerk.
The meetings begin at 7 PM Monday night at City hall.
