It’s an event that will close down Main Steet in downtown Batavia and will bring many from across the County together. Summer in the City will kick off at 11a.m. Saturday.
Batavia’s Business Improvement District and area merchants are sponsoring the event.
Assistant with the BID Laurie Oltramari said it will be fun for all ages.
“A car cruise with classic and vintage vehicles, there’s going to be over 100 vendors of food and crafts persons and artists. There is going to be an area for non-profit groups and also a kids zone,” said Oltramari.
Oltramari said over a thousand people are expected to pile into the city for the event. Summer in the City will go until 9p.m. Saturday night.
Starting at 7:30a.m. Main Street from Court to Liberty Streets will closed. Jackson, Court, Center and Banks Streets wil also be closed.

facing east. Entertainment: begins at 2:00pm and ends at 9:30pm.
Featured: The OHMS Band, In Plain View & Terry Buchwald (Elvis).
Vendors: Crafters and non-profits & KidsZone will be located on Court & Jefferson. Food vendors will be on the northside of Main Street from in front of Larry’s Steakhouse west to corner of Main & Jefferson. Commercial vendors will be on the southside of Main Street from corner of Court to Jackson Street.
Super Cruise: Vehicles will be on both sides of Main Street from Jackson Street east to Liberty / Summit. Will be on Jackson, School Center Streets and beginning of Bank Street.
Donny Carroll 5K Race: Start/ Finish line will be at the entrance of Bank of America Drive-Thru. The race starts at 6:15pm and ends finishes by 7:15pm.
Re-open streets at 11:00pm
