The Genesee Valley Agri-Business Park was awarded a $199,821 grant Monday. NYS U.S Senator Kirsten Gillibrand announced that the grant was secured through the USDA’s Rural Business Enterprise Grant Program.

The funding will be used to build a secondary access road to the Alpina Yogurt Factory being built in Batavia.

Gillibrand said the investment will make in easier to operate in the park and in turn will attract new business to the area. When completed the yogurt plant is expected to create 186 jobs right away.
