United Memorial Medical Center will be moving all of their medical records to a medical transcriptionist service. UMMC will be using “Intivia” for all their electronic medical records for all patients. Recently the hospital has been using the company for only a couple of areas.

Collen Flynn is with UMMC. She said the change will be especially difficult for five transcriptionists currently employed by UMMC.

Two will continue their employment by accepting other positions in the records department. The three remaining employees will be invited to stay at the same rate of pay and benefits to work on the project that is expected to last at least through the end of the year.

Flynn said they will also receive preferential treatment for positions that become available within the origination where they meet the qualifications.

Terrific! It already too forever for records. The Rochester and Buffalo hospitals uses a similar service. Holy almost never see records then. When you have're talking to a consultant or service that doesn't know you from Adam. Bummer...and for the employees as well. UMMC...I don't see anything you do as helping anyone in the community with your changes over the last couple of months. Sad.
