An 11-month investigation into a commercial burglary, using some high tech tools, has resulted in an arrest of a former LeRoy resident.
22-yr-old Nicholas Dellarocco, who now lives in Greece NY, was arrested by LeRoy Police and charged with one count of Burglary in the Third Degree, a class D-Felony.
LeRoy Police Detective John Condidorio said the probe began last May when a LeRoy business reported that someone broke in overnight, damaged property and stole some cash.
Condidorio said the burglar left behind numerous suspicious fingerprints.
At the time of the break-in, the fingerprints did not match any prints stored in the state’s computer system.
But in November, 2009, in an unrelated case out of Rochester, Dellarocco was fingerprinted and then automatically linked to the LeRoy case
Dellarocco is in the county jail today, in lieu of $5,000 bail.
