Whether it stands on a corner or swings out from a school bus, the big red octagonal sign means stop.
Batavia Police are making sure everyone knows it. They’ll participate in a statewide event tomorrow, checking schoolbuses on their routes and making sure all drivers stop when they’re supposed to.

Police will also monitor school zones for speeders.
A grant from the state supports tomorrow’s heightened initiative.
