A former Batavia man who pled guilty to filing a false claim with social services was sentenced in Genesee County court Friday. 36-year old Michael Schramm will spend 1 1/2 to three years in State prison for offering a false instrument for filing.
He and his wife Deborah plead guilty back in July to wrongfully receiving temporary assistance and food stamps. The Schramm’s failed to report that Michael was working full-time on a farm in Niagara County.
As part of his sentence, Schramm must repay the county over $17,026.39 he wrongfully received. Deborah Schramm is scheduled to be sentenced in October.
