As we approach winter, good news for Batavia National Grid customers. The utility company is forecasting that the price for natural gas will remain low again this season.
In an announcement today, the company says customers could see as much as a three-percent drop of the cost of their total bill. It predicts the average customer will spend $644 on heat this winter, $21 less than last year.
National Grid bases these predictions on market prices, actual natural gas usage, and weather conditions. Last winter was particularly mild which led to gas prices being lower than expected.
Although prices will be lower this year, the company still encourages homeowners to practice energy saving measures like replacing older appliances and applying for Energy Star rebates.
