The Village of Bergen deputy treasurer, Rene Verraro, was recently named the statewide recipient of the D.B.H. Dalrymple Community Service Award.
The announcement came at the annual meeting of the Municipal Electric Utilities Association in Corning.
Verraro is credited with starting two Girl Scout troops in Bergen — a Junior Troop and Brownies Troop. She is a member of the Diversity Committee at Byron-BergenSchool and Bergen’s Tree Board. She also helps with the annual tree lighting ceremony and is an active participant on Community Service day in May in the village.
