The U.S. and Canada have reached an agreement that will allow American officials to inspect Buffalo-bound trucks on the Canadian side in Fort Erie, Ontario.
The plan is designed to help improve traffic flow on the Peace Bridge, and is one of two experimental border crossings that will be tested for 18 months. The plan reportedly allows U.S. inspectors to carry guns on Canadian soil, but the details of that arrangement have not been revealed.
Officials hope this agreement will help set the stage for increased trade between the two nations.
