The New York State Police has 133 new troopers in the first class to graduate from its academy since 2009.
Their graduation ceremony is today at the Empire State Plaza in Albany.
The class increases the agency's total of sworn officers to just under 4,500 troopers.
Its peak was 4,800 three years ago, before state budget constraints halted recruiting.
A release from Governor Cuomo's office indicates that no additions will be made to Troop A, whcih represents Batavia.
