So far, Erie County, New York State and the NFL can’t agree on who’s going to foot the bill for more than $200 million worth of improvements needed for Ralph Wilson Stadium. There isn’t even a lease agreement in place keep the Bills in the stadium in the near future.
Those facts were not a deterrent to the preparer of a new stadium proposal to the Buffalo city council’s Community Development Committee. It lays out a plan for a downtown, $1.4 billion, retractable-roof, multi-purpose stadium that could lead to a Super Bowl bid for Western New York.
The Buffalo News says those supporting this plan have yet to line up approval from the NFL or the Bills. But the idea has piqued the interest of locals hoping to lock up the Bills in Buffalo.
