Chris Collins is asking local television stations to remove a political ad.
The ad in question claims that the Republican challenger for the 27th District fired 115 workers after he and a group of investors took over a company called Buffalo China in 2004.
Collins says the ad is inaccurate. It is paid for by a group called House Majority PAC.
A letter warning television stations from a law firm said a suit alleging defamation will be filed against stations that air it.
The third-party group has reportedly said it will continue running the ad. Hochul’s campaign is responsible for airing a very similar commercial and says it will not be pulled.
