HCR of Rochester, the company providing Genesee County’s home care services under a contract for the past year, has now received approval from New York State to purchase the operating certificates for the program.
The purchase of the program has been anticipated since March of last year when the Genesee County Legislature voted to end county owned home-care.
This morning, WBTA News spoke with HCR President Mark Maxim.
We asked him what the state approval means for local patients, and what changes may be in store for the future:
HCR has been serving about 100 patients in Genesee County. By purchasing the Genesee County home care operating certificates, HCR replaces the county agency in providing long term nursing care, therappy and home health aide services for Meicare and Medicaid patients.
