Have you ever wondered how Genesee County fares in terms of college education, infant mortality, or childhood poverty?
The New York Kids County Data Book compiled from Census data and produced by the State Council on Children and Families has released the information in an easy-to-digest format.
For example, 20 percent of county residents have bachelor’s degrees and more than 26 percent of children in the city of Batavia are living in families at or below the poverty line. The provided map also shows local WIC and Head Start program locations.
The organization says the report is intended to give a glimpse into community resources to improve children’s well-being.
