Muckdogs Could Be Leaving Batavia
The publication Baseball America is reporting that a New York-Penn League team -- likely Batavia Muckdogs -- is an official announcement away from moving to Binghamton. The deal has yet to be finalized, it says.
The magazine sites sources that say Ottawa is eyeing the Binghamton Mets franchise to move to Canada and Binghamton officials are looking for a New-York Penn League team as a replacement.
Rochester Red Wings CEO Naomi Silver acknowledges “preliminary, basic discussions as to whether it is something the Batavia ballclub would consider," in the article.
The Muckdogs just signed on with the Miami Marlins for the 2013 season. They have been operated by the Red Wings since 2008.

Part of Lake Ontario State Parkway to Close for Winter
A portion of the Lake Ontario State Parkway in Orleans County is being shut down for the winter months.
State Department of Transportation officials say the closure of a two-mile section of the parkway between Lakeside Beach State Park and Route 98 in Carlton will save the agency about 70-thousand dollars in plowing costs. Officials plan to shut down the roadway on November 28 and reopen it when the weather gets warmer.
